- Pevonia skin care products are used in all of the decadent treatments. Their products are organically derived and free of PABA, sulfates, mineral oil, relying instead on the therapeutic properties of natural ingredients such as caviar, tropical fruits and marine plants, and exploiting the power of essential oils such as lavender, grapefruit, jasmine, among many others.
- The intimate retreat offers couple’s treatments, as well as therapies specifically for men, including a caviar skin treatment, after-sports massage and shoulder, scalp and face massage.
- The extravagant Pearl Suite is a private spa-within-the-spa that comes complete with a treatment area, capacious soaking tub and lounge space with a double-wide daybed. Measuring in at 700 square feet, it’s bigger than the deluxe guest rooms.

- Even if you schedule a single shorter treatment, allow plenty of time before and after your appointment, to take full advantage of the wet areas and relaxation lounge at the Guangzhou spa.
The Treatments
- The 30-minute Stress Zone focuses on the neck and shoulders for quick tension relief, while the 60-minute Reflexology treatment works the pressure points in the feet, but its benefits are felt throughout the body.
- Stretch and loosen the body with the vigorous Thai massage. Another targeted treatment is the Traditional Chinese massage, which employs a combination of focused pressure at key points and long strokes to encourage greater energy flow within the body.
- Aromatherapy massages exploit the benefits of essential oils while applying a gentle, soothing touch.
- The classic Swedish massage combines long, strong movements and focused pressure to release pesky tension.
- The Hot Stone Therapy treatment (60 or 90 minutes) uses black granite stones, strategically placed on the body, to promote the deepest relaxation and promote healing.
The Facilities
- The glamorous spa uses a mix of styles, both European and Asian. Crystal chandeliers hang over the marble-topped, mirror-paneled reception desk.
- The salmon hued locker room leads to wet areas with mosaic floors and iridescent tiling which, along with the stone benches in the steam bath, have a distinctly Mediterranean tone.
- The relaxation lounge is furnished with claw-footed chaise lounges whose accent pillows have a fleur-de-lis motif, for an 18th-century French feeling.
- The 11 treatment rooms are customized for different experiences — water treatments or Thai massage, for example — but all reflect the classic European elegance found throughout the hotel, combined with dark wood detailing and furnishings that recall dynastic China.
