Forbes Travel Guide performs independent, incognito inspections of all hotels we rate. This is what we paid when we stayed at this hotel.

Perched atop a scenic seaside cliff, Vila Vita Parc exudes an air of exclusivity from the moment you set foot on the meticulously manicured grounds. Hidden behind an iron gate, the sprawling 50-plus-acre resort somehow retains the feel of a secret garden with endless sun-drenched nooks and crannies to explore.

The Algarve hotel appears to have been curated through an Instagram filter with the vibrancy cranked up to 100. White-washed buildings and sparkling turquoise pools contrast deep-green lawns and the rich golden sands that lead to the sea. Eleven restaurants, four bars and a wine cellar delight foodies and oenophiles alike, while a recently refreshed spa soothes both body and mind.

But the lush grounds at this Algarve getaway offer much more. Rotate among the seven pools. Look for souvenirs in the charming shopping mall. Spend the day at the luxury hotel’s nearby Beach Club, home to water sports, three additional restaurants and plenty of palapa-shaded loungers. The club is easily accessible via a complimentary hotel shuttle.
