Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa
Moab's rugged canyon adventure
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.

Four-Star

The Rooms
-
Like the vast landscape that surrounds the Moab property, the Sorrel River cabins have plenty of space for you to roam, and range in size from 400 to 1,000 square feet.
-
All are decorated in a rustic western style that doesn’t scrimp on modern amenities such as Wi-Fi and flat-screen televisions.
-
You’ll also find a kitchenette, and every cabin has its own private porch with chairs or porch swings for relaxing. The cabin-style furnishings are dotted with kitschy western accessories such as cowboy figurines hunched near the door and sconces with the profiles of horses on them.

The western style of the rooms at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa in Moab extends into the large bathrooms, where guests will find plenty of modern amenities treated with a rustic kick.
-
While soaking in the claw-footed hydrotherapy tub you can gaze at the large, scenic print of rustling cowboys hanging on the wall, or take note of the unique metal horse heads that anchor the towel bars to the wall in the resort.
-
A roomy shower takes up one corner of the bathroom – possibly the only corner that hasn’t been kitted out with rustic accoutrements – and dual sinks on the vanity, each with their own mirror, offer plenty of room to spread out.
The Restaurants
-
The most upscale option is The River Grill Restaurant, where chef Richard Potts and his culinary team lets the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended resort’s farm-to-plate philosophy guide every dish.
-
They often use fresh herbs and produce grown on site at Sorrel River’s garden in classic dishes such as Kobe beef, pan-seared scallops and lamb chops.
-
The River Deck overlooking the Colorado River is the place to go for a relaxed lunch of salads and freshly made sandwiches. It’s also a fine choice when sunset comes and you’d like a cool libation and some appetizers after a long day at the spa or exploring Canyon Country.
-
The Sorrel River Ranch Bar, open seasonally from May 5 to late October, offers classic and contemporary cocktails, fine wines and artisan beers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available at the resort, and the bar is open daily from noon until 11 p.m.
