Once known as the "Textile Capital of the World," Greenville, South Carolina, is quickly becoming a hub for large companies such as BMW. But in terms of leisure, outdoor activities abound in and around Greenville. Table Rock, Paris Mountain and Caesars Head State Parks, the Swamp Rabbit Trail and the revitalized downtown Falls Park at Reedy River draw hikers, cyclists, rock climbers and fishermen from all over the Southeast. Greenville is situated almost equally between Clemson and Columbia, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and in the fall, football — both college and professional — reigns supreme.
