Oklahoma City

A mecca for cowboys and country music fans, Oklahoma’s state capital sprawls for miles across endless flat plains. Located along historic Route 66, it has lured travelers for years, and today offers a full slate of attractions, served up with a combination of southern hospitality and western ruggedness, all set against wide open spaces and endless blue sky. The city sprung up literally overnight following the 1889 land run to settle Oklahoma. Later, cattle, railroads and oil money fueled the city’s development, and today’s Oklahoma City boasts a thicket of skyscrapers rising over downtown, grand mansions sprouting up in residential neighborhoods and a blossoming food scene.
