Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa

Coastal elegance for couples
VERIFIED LUXURY
When Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa asserts that it treats guests like family, it’s not hyperbole. The 85-room property resting between Bermuda’s Long and Mangrove bays opens its doors so wide that it keeps a tally of its extended family members on a wall where guests’ names fall under categories like “Teeners” (10 or more visits) and “Eighty Fivers” (yes, there are two couples who’ve had 85 stays).

There’s a story attached to nearly every name, and staff members wear genuine smiles on their faces when they tell them. You won’t be able to add your family to the esteemed list until your fifth trip, but the writing is still on the wall as to why Cambridge Beaches Resort should be a part of your next Bermudian visit.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • As an island with roughly 64 miles of coastline, Bermuda doesn’t make it terribly difficult to find water. How Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa separates itself from others is that it provides varied views and landscapes across its property.
  • Get your fitness fix and join Bianca for yoga, rent a bike and explore the trails nearby or see the team at H20 Sports about getting on the water for a few hours.
  • Indulge in a muscle-melting massage at the Ocean Spa where traditional healing arts blend with a European flair.
  • The resort boasts its own putting green for golf enthusiasts, but you can also book a tee time at the surrounding championship courses (like the 18-hole Port Royal Golf Course) through the hotel’s concierge.
Things to Know
  • Should you require something a bit more relaxed for your afternoon activities, the Bermuda hotel also has a croquet lawn.
  • Explore Bermuda like a local with a scooter or electric vehicle rental from Oleander Cycles next door. They’ll set you up with everything you need for a full day of island adventures.
The Rooms
  • Much like the vistas you’ll spy across the luxury hotel, the room styles also vary significantly. If you plan to keep things relatively simple, the Garden View or Deluxe Ocean View units will work well.
  • Feeling the urge to splurge a bit? Go with the Lily or Palmetto suite; the raised bedroom and shutter doors give the space some definition and create a sense of home.
  • Up the tropical ante even more by reserving a two-bedroom cottage. These special lodgings have private gardens, fireplaces or even a quick history lesson (Pegem Cottage dates back to a 17th-century privateer).
  • Though not all the units come with dreams of buried treasure, you’ll find 300-thread-count sheets, flat-screen TVs and Caribbean refinement permeating through floral patterns and spectacular views.
The Restaurants
  • Breakfast at Shoreline might consist of morning staples but the side of sunshine peering through the dining room makes the meal memorable.
  • Beachside restaurant Breezes offers lunch and dinner with a side of priceless views, cocktails and the opportunity to spot sea turtles.
  • Sunken Harbor Club is a unique dockside tavern and tropical bar from restaurateur St. John Frizell where you’ll find chef James Wambui's roots cuisine blending Caribbean and Portuguese flavors inspired by Bermuda.

  • All-day poolside dining, along with a tropical cocktail menu, is available at Pastel.
