Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort

An art-filled Aegean hideaway
VERIFIED LUXURY
Perched on 28 hillside acres along Bodrum's north coast, Maxx Royal Bodrum Resort is luxury calibrated for sun-bronzed jet setters. This LEED Gold-certified resort opened in May 2024 on a private peninsula near Cennet Bay. First impressions are of sleek European elegance — expect to see Ferraris purring up the drive and prosecco poured on ocean-view terraces for ladies lunching in chic resort-wear.

Art anchors the experience: conceptual artist Bernar Venet's 68-foot corten-steel arcs tower at the marina entrance while Refik Anadol's AI-generated installation, created from wind forecast data, commands the lobby on a monumental screen. The 282 Mahmut Anlar-designed suites and villas cascade down hillsides into indigenous gardens overlooking the Aegean. Beyond the six pools and private bay beach, international favorites elevate the offering, from an outpost of Wolfgang Puck’s acclaimed Spago to a Scorpios-branded seasonal beach club.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Soft white pebbles set in a traditional Turkish podima mosaic provide a warm-up foot massage as you walk through the rose-scented, 62,000-square-foot Maxx Wellbeing Center. The palatial retreat is a destination in and of itself with 20 treatment rooms, a sensory deprivation tank and an Olympic-sized indoor pool.
  • Lagoon suites sit alongside an ingeniously undulating saltwater pool, creating the sensation of floating above the Bodrum resort. Entry-level suites feature sea-green Turkish marble vanities, locally sourced wooden coffee tables and a chic mint-green tote for daily use.
  • Maxx Royal Bodrum plays host to the region’s largest kids’ club, a 12,000-square-foot wonderland that features blond wood walls, life-sized resin giraffes, a cinema, a dedicated restaurant and even an indoor ropes course.
  • Five Maseratis are available for guests to borrow on a first-come, first-served basisfor exploring historic Bodrum town, 30 minutes away.
  • Two onsite galleries showcase rotating exhibitions by acclaimed artists. Venet's work appears throughout the property with sketches adorning public spaces, an exhibition marking the first time his collection has been displayed in Turkey.

The Restaurants

  • Cantilevered over the Aegean, Spago by Wolfgang Puck sets an impressive scene for elevated Mediterranean cuisine. The acclaimed chef’s signature smoked salmon pizza anchors the menu, accompanied by beachy staples like crisp salads, juicy burgers and creamy dips served with pillowy pita.
  • Parisian institution Caviar Kaspia’s Bodrum location specializes in classic caviar service and upmarket seafood in a setting that leans into timeless French-Russian style.
  • By day, Casa Sol is a casually elegant beach club serving Latin American bites like short rib empanadas. After dark, it transforms into a sophisticated spot for sundowners, but with a breezy, barefoot luxury vibe that keeps things cozy.
  • As its name suggests, Twenty4 is a true 24-hour kitchen where breakfast, lunch and dinner blur into one seamless, around-the-clock experience. Expect Turkish classics, global comfort dishes and late-night bites without ever needing to leave the resort core.
  • Savor Spanish steakhouse fare from the creative mind of chef Dani Garcia at Leña. The menu focuses on charcoaled-grilled, dry-aged cuts, alongside other flame-kissed specialties like charcoal-grilled Malaga avocado, smoked burrata and chicken empanadas.
