Organic forms, warm natural materials and sea-inspired hues define interiors by YANG Design Group, creating spaces that feel sophisticated without sacrificing a sense of place.

Accommodations open onto private balconies, many framing sweeping South China Sea views, while the resort's collection of pools, including an infinity option overlooking the beach, encourages leisurely days in the sun. Five restaurants and bars (offering everything from refined Cantonese cuisine to Japanese specialties), a spa, family-friendly amenities, and an atmosphere welcoming to pets help round out a quiet getaway.

Private balconies come standard at Kimpton Aqeos Hainan, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame sea or garden views and fill the contemporary accommodations with natural light. Villas provide extra space to sprawl, including private pools equipped with daybeds.
The resort balances relaxation with recreation, pairing the serene Solis Spa and multiple pools with a Games Chamber for billiards and chess and an E-Sports Center.
Three outdoor pools (an infinity pool, a heated relaxation pool and a kids’ pool), plus a lazy river offer plenty of ways to cool off before heading to the serviced beach lined with loungers, umbrellas and towel service.
In true Kimpton fashion, the resort welcomes four-legged companions in designated pet-friendly rooms, making it an appealing choice for travelers who prefer to bring their pets along.
The trio of restaurants showcases numerous flavors, from Cantonese specialties at Hai Yu and Japanese seafood at Ozen to international dishes at brasserie-style Streat. Two bars and lounges keep refreshments within easy reach throughout the day.

The Look

Built within the shell of an unfinished resort, Kimpton Aqeos Hainan transforms an abandoned project into a contemporary coastal retreat through a comprehensive redesign by YANG Design Group.
The interiors draw inspiration from the imagined home of a well-traveled art collector and environmentalist, balancing natural materials and organic forms with modernist design (see: heavily veined marble, light oak floors, spherical light fixtures and curved banquettes).
Instead of a traditional lobby, you'll arrive in a series of interconnected social spaces — an art-filled atrium, living room and open-air-style lounge — centered around a sculptural fireplace that evokes the feel of a high-end home.
A geometric triangular frame and strategically placed skylights flood the atrium with daylight, overcoming the building's original structural limitations while improving airflow and reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
Instead of walls and partitions, the public spaces are defined by a series of reflecting pools, tropical gardens and art installations, making the Lingshui hotel feel open, light-filled and easy to explore.
