Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Opulence in the heart of Cabo San Lucas
VERIFIED LUXURY

From the moment you enter the torch-lit private tunnel leading to Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, it’s clear that this is a special place. Nestled into the dramatic cliffs of Pedregal Mountain, where the desert meets the Pacific Ocean, the 112-room retreat offers sweeping ocean views from every accommodation, as well as a private plunge pool and residential-inspired comforts.

After an extensive multi-year transformation that was completed in October 2025, guests can now explore newly reimagined guest rooms, suites, beachfront suites, casitas and villas, all inspired by Mexico’s artisans.

Visitors are also invited to immerse themselves in Baja’s culture through culinary offerings, including agave tastings at the intimate Agave Study at Peacock Alley and dining at the oceanfront Mar y Leña, which celebrates the region's flavors through live-fire cooking. The restorative, 12,000-square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa offers treatments inspired by the moon, the sea and traditional Mexican healing practices.

Whether you are soaking up the sun by the Beach Club or relaxing in a spacious, butler-serviced villa, every moment at Pedregal is imbued with the spirit of Baja.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Guests enjoy a seamless stay with the help of dedicated personal concierges, assisting with everything from dinner reservations and curated experiences to thoughtful in-room touches.
  • The resort’s open-air lobby with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean stuns guests as they emerge from the private Dos Mares tunnel. The handcrafted welcome margarita completes the moment.
  • The only inconvenience at this sprawling locale is deciding how you’ll spend your day — by the pool, the recently enhanced Beach Club, at the oceanfront spa or some combination thereof.
  • Discover an oasis at the Five-Star spa. Circular treatment rooms hover above a saltwater meditation pool, allowing easy access for a quick dip after a tailored service featuring Mexican folk healing.
  • In addition to its signature dining venues, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal’s culinary program is punctuated with signature experiences such as Agave Study at Peacock Alley (where you can taste agave spirits like tequila, mezcal, raicilla and sotol) and the Neutral Coffee Lab (where you can get flights of Baja brews or learn how to do a proper pour-over).

Things to Know

  • When it comes to shopping, dining and nightlife, one could ask for little more than to be located just minutes from downtown Cabo. Simply stroll through the private tunnel and down the hill to find yourself at the Cabo San Lucas marina, where you’ll enjoy local vendors hawking everything from silver jewelry and local favorite “fire opals” to embroidered dresses, magnets and more.
  • Staff at the Los Cabos hotel can easily arrange fishing charters or tours at preferred rates, so bypass the vendors promising special “bargains” at the waterfront.
  • Something else not to miss: the resort's proximity to the ocean allows for stunning seasonal views of humpback whales, which cluster around the peninsula.
  • The AlmArte Boutique’s curated collection of locally made pieces, artisan goods and elevated resort wear is an excellent demonstration of the resort’s commitment to supporting Mexican craftsmanship. Featured collaborators include local artists and vendors such as Cinthya Navarro and Tanya Talamante.
  • For more shopping, it’s a quick stroll to the aptly named Luxury Avenue, which offers high-end stores like Carolina Herrera and Salvatore Ferragamo.

The Rooms

  • Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal’s 112 rooms and suites don’t disappoint. They offer private balconies with plunge pools and dramatic views of the crashing waves over the rocky beach.
  • Guests seeking a longer stay or a homier atmosphere gravitate toward the casitas — two- and three-bedroom retreats that combine fully equipped kitchens and lush private lawns with direct beachfront access.
  • Rather than importing a generic luxury aesthetic, the designers turned to Mexico itself — working with artisans from Oaxaca, Jalisco and Baja California Sur to produce the furnishings, textiles, artwork and decorative details that give the rooms their distinctive character.
  • The in-room amenities are carefully considered at the luxury hotel. A curated minibar celebrates regional flavors and daily room deliveries (see: fresh guacamole, chips and cold Mexican beer) bring an authentic, local touch to the stay.

The Restaurants

  • Don Manuel’s offers an elevated interpretation of Mexican cuisine in a hacienda-style setting overlooking the ocean. The menu celebrates seasonal, regional ingredients and traditional flavors. Dinner might be crusted sea bass served with creamy goat cheese, sautéed zucchini and poblano mint sauce or a made-to-order huevos rancheros and Cabo Benedict for breakfast.
  • Crudo perfects the ideal oceanfront lunch, pairing light, bright ceviche with handcrafted cocktails and panoramic Pacific views from the Beach Club.
  • El Farallon, perched on the rocky cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, is easily one of the most romantic dining experiences in Cabo. The evening can begin with a sunset glass of champagne while taking in the dramatic sea vista, followed by a menu dictated by the local catch of the day that’s expertly paired with a soup, appetizer and dessert trio.
