A grand Parisian hotel near the Louvre
For travelers to Paris, often the goal is to book a hotel in an ideal location for easy access to main attractions, and Hôtel du Louvre is one such place. Built in 1855, the luxury hotel is in line with Georges-Eugène Haussmann’s architectural design plan ordered by Napoleon III, with cream-colored stone walls, ornamental iron window guards and wonderfully detailed interior design. You’ll find a reception hall with a high ceiling that the emperor would have approved of and marble flooring that echoes that of the Opéra Garnier.
The hotel, as part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, plays with different eras and this duality of styles is unique. Modern decorative touches intersperse the premises with audacity: smooth lines, illustrations by Emmanuel Pierre and counters in black marble and steel—all of which are enhanced by a distinctive brightness.Our Inspector's Highlights
- The two elevators leading up to the guest rooms are named after the views: one side is labeled Louvre, the other, Opera — and yes, most rooms overlook one of these iconic landmarks, while others gaze out at a quaint courtyard.
- Independent perfumer Pierre Guillaume created a signature scent for the property. Pay attention to the aroma, which is a unique composition illuminated by red mandarin essence and enhanced with violet leaves, as you walk about the hotel.
- The hotel is surrounded by the Musée du Louvre, the Comédie-Française, the Palais Garnier and Palais Royal square
- You couldn’t ask for a better location from which to explore the heart of Paris’ art and culture.it is the perfect place to start wandering and discover most of the city’s treasures that are all within walking distance.
Things to Know
- The restaurant’s terrace also features glass walls that eliminate excess noise from passersby in this popular area.
- The fitness center, which is located on the mezzanine level,
features the latest workout equipment and is open 24 hours a day.
- Designed like studios, Hôtel du Louvre's eight meeting spaces (between 204 and 1,474 square feet) all have different themes, taking you on a journey into the world of the famous characters (such as Victor Hugo and Jules Verne) who marked the history of the establishment.
The Rooms
- There are 164 rooms, including 57 suites and one signature suite, and they all feature dynamic views, immense natural light and ample space.
- All are also soundproofed, offer complimentary Wi-Fi, a mini-bar and a safe large enough to secure and store a laptop.
- The suites are impressive, with luxurious fabrics and large floor-to-ceiling windows with show-stopping views.
- Inside the Pissarro Suite, which was inspired by artist Camille Pissarro’s impressionist paintings, you’ll find 690 square feet of gallery-worthy vistas, elegant wood flooring and a marble-covered bathroom.
The Restaurants
- The Brasserie, the Paris hotel’s main restaurant, is open to the public and it features breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- At The Brasserie, chef Denis Bellon offers creative, modern reinterpretations of French culinary tradition in his seasonally driven menu, served in a fittingly sophisticated setting.
- At the L'Officine du Louvre Bar, you can admire the magnificent period
glass roof, with its neoclassical
motifs. It has been completely restored and allows daylight to filter
through, with rays of sunlight illuminating – for the first time in
decades. More than a bar, L'Officine offers teatime from Wednesday to Sunday and weekend brunch.
