The Global Ambassador

European flair in the desert
VERIFIED LUXURY

Even in an area accustomed to upscale luxury, The Global Ambassador stands out.

The 141-room hotel occupies a prime location where Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley converge near the base of Camelback Mountain. Yet instead of a traditional desert experience, you discover an international oasis. Exuding a European flair, the white-brick building with wrought-iron accents coaxes you out of the sun and into the spacious, gracious lobby that buzzes with energy both day and night.

Old World charm mixed with modern sophistication instantly turned The Global Ambassador into a gathering spot for locals and a desired destination for jet-setting travelers since opening in 2023. Elegant guest rooms and suites prove as welcoming as they are functional. The innovative spa offers the latest in treatments and is complemented by the sprawling 9,000-square-foot fitness facility. At the heart of the property, five unique restaurants range from poolside to rooftop, each with a distinctive voice, taking you on a delicious culinary journey in the desert.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Created by renowned restaurateur Sam Fox, The Global Ambassador bears the same unrivaled attention to detail that he poured into his 150 restaurants. At the end of the day, nothing compares to sharing plates of delicious Mediterranean-inspired cuisine over drinks and music at théa, Arizona’s largest rooftop restaurant. Sunset streaks the craggy ridges of Camelback Mountain as darkness slowly falls and the lights of the city flicker on.
  • You just might see your favorite basketball player or other pro athlete at this Phoenix hotel, which sits next to the Suns’ training facility. Suns star Devin Booker invested in the property and offered guidance on details like bed size and shower height to better accommodate visiting athletes.
  • Guest rooms were designed by Fox and Judith Testani of Testani Design Troupe and radiate a soothing warmth with oak hardwood floors, luxurious fabric wall coverings, commissioned artwork and a fully stocked bar full of surprises. Beds are dressed in Matouk linens, and Byredo amenities occupy the vanity. Each room has a balcony.
  • Rejuvenate body and mind in the sumptuous spa, which offers a comprehensive menu of wellness treatments that range from facials and massages to acupuncture and cryotherapy. Plush locker rooms include hot tubs, cold plunges, steam rooms and saunas.
  • The grand lobby spills out into a lush courtyard with patio seating ringed by tidy gardens and graceful olive trees, creating an evocative indoor-outdoor sanctum.

The Restaurants

  • Guests and locals drop into the luxury hotel's Le Market for artisanal coffee, fresh juices and buttery pastries for breakfast and lunch.
  • The Lobby Bar sets a sophisticated mood with classic and craft cocktails, upscale snacks and live music. Order the cheekily named Adult Happy Meal — a martini with truffle fries.
  • A casual French bistro with an open kitchen by day, Le Âme morphs into a softly lit, romantic Parisian steakhouse at night. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere over steak frites, tuna carpaccio and short rib bourguignon.
  • As playful as its name, Pink Dolphin offers fresh-pressed juices and icy margaritas and other cocktails alongside Peruvian ceviche and Mexican mariscos in a vibrant poolside setting.
  • Rooftop théa serves an array of Mediterranean dishes like shrimp scorpio (with orzo, spicy tomato sauce, feta, Calabrian chile and fennel) and Greek-style lamb chops.
