Casa Malca Tulum

Eclectic design meets beachfront luxury
VERIFIED LUXURY

Casa Malca Tulum is an enigmatic gem in the Riviera Maya, offering a unique blend of privacy, artistic expression and considerate service. Once the notorious Pablo Escobar’s mansion, it was acquired in 2012 by Lio Malca, a Colombian-born, New York-based art collector who opened it as a hotel in 2014. This 71-suite property is an ever-evolving sanctuary where art, luxury and nature collide.

With his creative vision, Malca transformed the property into a dreamlike retreat, featuring whimsical touches like sky-high curtains made of wedding dresses, chandelier-filled lounges and hidden grottoes to discover.

Beloved by celebrities, this bohemian retreat is one of Tulum’s most coveted hotels. The meticulously manicured property features a beach club, art-filled accommodations, one-of-a-kind restaurants, a rooftop spa and enchanting event spaces. Art pieces by icons like Keith Haring, KAWS and Kenny Scharf add color and contrast throughout the hotel, juxtaposing local details, such as native palms and liana wood, artisanal handicrafts and folkloric Mexican design elements.
