Emiliano São Paulo
A hip, buzzy boutique hotel in São Paulo
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended

On the outside, Emiliano São Paulo is a dramatic thin-mirrored tower crowned with an overhanging helipad. Inside, the São Paulo hotel is every inch the epitome of design-forward Brazilian style with a discreet, attentive staff.
You won’t find a pool or much in the way of outside space here, but you will find an excellent spa, a fitness center, a good restaurant and a business center. This boutique hotel in the fashionable Jardins district is understandably popular with the jetset, in-town-for-business crowd.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- Blonde woods and design features such as Brazilian artist Siron Franco’s hanging sculpture (a giant, black cocoon) and the 16-foot vertical garden, soften the crisp-white marble floors of the glass-encased lobby.
- Settle into one of the Champagne & Caviar Bar’s bespoke armchairs — each made with hundreds of feet of beige rope by São Paulo design prodigies, the Campana Brothers — and choose from a menu of more than 75 different bubblies.
- The penthouse Cubo Suite is worth the splurge, set inside a sort-of glass cube and offering an indoor heated plunge pool, a dining table, two desks, a large five-seat sofa and a freestanding bath tub from which to enjoy the 180-degree view of the city.
- Located just a few blocks from Avenida Paulista, one of the city’s main business hubs, Emiliano is on Rua Oscar Freire, home to many top restaurants and designer boutiques.
- The Santapele Spa is an urban oasis complete with an outdoor relaxation area, two Japanese baths, a vertical garden wall and comfortable lounge chairs.
Things to Know
- The tables are well spaced at Emiliano restaurant, so you won’t have to share your conversation with the one next to you.
- Run Oscar Freire (the street on which the hotel is situated) is one of the very few places in São Paulo where you can indulge in high-end retail therapy without being inside a shopping mall.
- Santo Grão, just opposite the hotel, is one of the best cafés in town for people-watching and a superior cup of coffee.
The Rooms
- With 56 rooms in total, the hotel is small enough to feel exclusive while never feeling cramped. There are just two rooms per floor.
- Neutral tones, a plethora of woods and beige leathers are matched with soft lighting, while Egyptian cotton sheets and goose-down pillows adorn king-size beds.
- In the bathrooms, you’ll find the hotel’s signature range of natural spa products, a hydro-massage shower and a high-tech toilet.
- The suites are double the size of the deluxe rooms and boast small kitchens.
The Restaurants
- High ceilings, mirrors and a stunning vertical garden set the stage at Emiliano, the luxury hotel’s Italian restaurant and a favorite for business lunches and smart family gatherings.
- Diners have an option to order the five-course tasting menu or from the à la carte menu made up of freshly-made pastas, risottos, fish and meat.
- Starters have flair, such as the thinly sliced octopus served in a puff of cherry-wood smoke.
- The biggest draw, however, is the excellent weekend brunch. Take your time in choosing a succession of miniature dishes, from classic egg options to soups, pastas, meats and divine desserts.
