Our Inspector's Highlights

  • InterContinental Toronto Centre’s location really can’t be beat for business travelers and eventgoers, being directly attached to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It’s also a short, indoor walk to your conference — especially helpful in cold winter months. The Toronto hotel is a mere five-minute walk from the city’s core Financial District and Union Station train stations as well.
  • Spacious guest rooms have recently renovated bathrooms that have sleek showers and Byredo bath products. Those booking a Club Level room can enjoy access to Club InterContinental amenities such as turndown service, private meeting spaces and all-day nibbles).
  • The impressive 2,200-square-foot Presidential Suite has hosted dignitaries and U.S. presidents. Renovated in 2021, the space highlights Canadian-made furnishings and brings a modern, elegant, teal and gold aesthetic from local design firm Moncur Design Associates Inc. The master bedroom and lavish bathroom (with a beautiful standalone soaker tub) along with the expansive living area and wrap-around terrace offer an impressive view of the waterfront and CN Tower, with dining and space for important meetings.
  • Walking in, the expansive lobby and lofty glass-ceilinged Azure restaurant take you from the city’s busy streets into a hub of activity all its own. Guests can enjoy the Azure bar or lobby lounge space for people watching and appreciating more than a dozen pieces celebrating Canadian art and local creatives that have been selected, curated and displayed in partnership with Bau-Xi Gallery.
  • For travelers who are pressed for time, enjoy a quick wellness break at the Spa InterContinental, with the 30-minute relaxation massage for quick targeted head/neck/shoulders massage or the 45-minute AquaPeel express facial for a deep clean and exfoliation. The fitness center is open 24 hours with treadmills, cable machines and Peloton bikes.

Things to Know

  • The aforementioned Spa InterContinental offers 12 treatment rooms and a variety of wellness-focused treatments, from classic Swedish massages to detoxifying body wraps. Signatures include the 90-minute Deluxe Skin Nourishing Facial and the Deluxe Resurfacing Treatment, both encouraging more hydrated, firmer-looking skin, using DermaQuest and Canadian-made Biophora skincare products. Guests can also enjoy the indoor saltwater pool, eucalyptus steam room, a newly renovated sauna and hot tub.
  • Azure is helmed by Shawn Whalen, one of only a handful chefs in the country to have earned the designation of Certified Master Chef through the Canadian Culinary Institute. The menu boasts local flavors with global cuisine — a Montreal-style smoked meat poutine (made, as expected, with cheese curds from Quebec) or an Ontario pork chop finished with a Canadian whiskey barbecue glaze. On weekends, enjoy savory sandwiches and fresh baked scones as part of the afternoon tea service in the spacious, bright space looking out into the city.
  • The luxury hotel’s address provides quick access to the city’s biggest attractions, sharing the same (very large) city block with the CN Tower, Rogers Stadium and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada that can be easily reached via the Skywalk path. If you’re catching a play or concert, it’s also a short walk to venues like Roy Thompson Hall, Scotiabank Arena, the Royal Alexandra Theatre and Princes of Wales Theatre.
