Red Oak Steakhouse

A modern steakhouse in the Arkansas Delta
VERIFIED LUXURY
Hidden away inside Saracen Casino Resort, Red Oak Steakhouse is one of the most ambitious restaurants in Arkansas. The adults-only dining room balances classic steakhouse elegance with contemporary sensibilities, resulting in a polished atmosphere that feels pleasantly removed from the energy of the casino floor.

While familiar steakhouse staples hold court on the menu, executive chef Michael Qandah takes a more global and creative approach to the genre. Alongside more than 15 steak cuts and preparations — ranging from steak verde to dry-aged ribeye to Kobe strip — you’ll also find seared pork tenderloin, smoked elk and fresh-caught fish, complemented by a tome of a wine list and a reliable roster of classic cocktails.

While the menu pays homage to the great American steakhouse, subtle Southern influences and regional touches, from Arkansas-made sake and Quapaw-owned O-Gah-Pah coffee to locally inspired sauces, anchor Red Oak firmly in its locale.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Pine Bluff restaurant's design feels refined without becoming overly formal. A palette of warm woods, leather, light stone and bronze creates a welcoming backdrop, while colorful artwork and a striking floor-to-ceiling wine display add visual drama.
  • Beef is unmistakably the star at Red Oak Steakhouse. The kitchen showcases an impressive selection of prime wet- and dry-aged cuts, allowing guests to experience how different aging techniques influence flavor and texture.
  • Service is highly personalized, with staff taking time to understand your preferences and dietary needs. Frequent diners are often recognized and welcomed back with genuine warmth and a remarkable attention to detail.
  • The restaurant's design balances intimacy and grandeur. While a private dining room accommodates larger gatherings, the main dining room's thoughtful layout creates a sense of privacy even among neighboring tables.
  • Overseen by WSET-certified wine director Kenneth Lipsmeyer, the wine program is every bit as ambitious as the kitchen. Spanning hundreds of labels from renowned wine regions across the globe, the comprehensive list emphasizes American producers while also showcasing benchmark bottles from France, Argentina, Italy, Hungary and Spain.

The Food and Drinks

  • For a standout steak experience, try the indulgent Saracen Kobe Experience, which features three authentic A5 Kobe cuts presented tableside. Sourced from Japan's Hyogo Prefecture, the restaurant's Kobe program places Red Oak among a select group of U.S. steakhouses authorized to serve the coveted beef.
  • Beyond steak, the menu showcases a blend of Southern influences and global flavors. Standouts include the colossal lump crab cake with O-Gah-Pah coffee remoulade, sakura pork tenderloin with apple butter, pecans and Parmesan, and an extensive caviar program sourced from around the world.
  • Saracen Casino Resort’s executive pastry chef Matías de Matthaeis brings creative flair and finesse to the dessert menu. Favorites include an airy chocolate soufflé, a bright pavlova with coconut Chantilly and strawberry sorbet, and the visually striking black forest, which layers a dome of rich chocolate mousse, pistachio crumble and cherry.
  • An impressive collection of bourbons, rye whiskies, Scotch and Japanese whiskies forms the backbone of the spirits list, while classic cocktails are executed with precision. Among the standouts is the Red Oak Manhattan, the restaurant’s take on the timeless cocktail, alongside a selection of expertly crafted martinis, Old Fashioneds and other steakhouse favorites.
