The 12,000-square-foot Five-Star Ocean & Harvest Spa is a treat for the mind, body and senses. The spa’s philosophy keeps with Ocean House’s dedication to natural living, creating seasonal spa treatments that fall into either "harvest" or "ocean" categories.
You’ll find seven treatment rooms, a couples room and full-service salon here, as well as a locker room for changing and relaxing pre-treatment. After your spa treatment, take in the views of the Atlantic Ocean from the spa’s relaxation room, where you can rest on plush lounge chairs and curl up with the spa’s cashmere blankets.

- One of the things we love most about Ocean & Harvest Spa is its ever-changing menu, which gives us an excuse to keep visiting.
- In keeping with the same farm-to-table concept as Ocean House’s Seasons restaurant, the spa creates treatments that draw from the ocean and the harvest, using products and natural ingredients that work to nourish the body and relax the mind.
- In the relaxation area, take in the sweeping water views while curled up in your cashmere blanket until you’re ready to leave the Rhode Island respite.
- First-time guests are taken on a quick tour, eliminating any potential stress from getting lost while navigating the enormous space.
- It’s no fun indulging in a spa treatment if you can’t take a part of it home with you. This accommodating spa knows this and stocks its small spa shop with skincare lines, as well as at-home amenities like blankets, candles, eye masks and small gifts.
Things to Know
- The spa concierge is extremely helpful in recommending the right treatments based on your wants and needs.
- If you need to cancel your appointment at the peaceful spa, you’ll need to do so at least 24 hours in advance of your booked appointment time.
- Although, there are no specific teen treatments available, guests who are at least 16 years old are welcome to use the spa facilities.
The Treatments
- Since the menu changes seasonally, we can’t be sure what you’ll like during your visit. During our fall visit to the tranquil space, however, we loved the Beach Stone simply because it brings the ocean indoors with its use of hot stones from the waterfront.
- The 90-minute Ocean Experience treatment includes a variety of therapies inspired by (you guessed it) the sea. Think a sea salt scrub, sea mud wrap and a massage using a blend of organic lavender and eucalyptus.
- If the ocean is calling you, the Ocean Glow scrub is the best way to answer. The 45-minute treatment using marine minerals to leave your skin feeling soft and dewy, and your body reenergized.
- Sitting in a room for an hour getting your face washed, scrubbed, exfoliated and then, finally, moisturized, can be uncomfortable at times. The amazing scented oils used in the organic lavender-infused facial will make you instantly forget you’re spending time repairing your skin.
- Another favorite treatment of ours is the Nature Radiance Facial. A restorative blend of healing calendula, rose, nourishing lavender and honey from Rhode Island are massaged into your skin for a youthful glow.
The Facilities
- The treatment rooms are modestly designed and include heated tables, candles and background music.
- While there’s no view, you’ll have a hard time not relaxing once you enter your room in the Five-Star spa; and once you leave your treatment room and arrive in the relaxation area, you’ll find all the views you need.
- Arrive at least an hour before your appointment to check out the herbal steam room and the pool area (located outside the luxury Rhode Island spa).
- You might think you’re going to take the day off from working out while you’re at the spa…until you see the gym. With a full cardio section, weight room and motion studio, there’s equipment available for any and all fitness goals.
