An ornate Baroque portal dating back to 1733 leads to something entirely unexpected inside: The Spa at The Madrid EDITION’s sleek, contemporary inner sanctum that lulls you into stillness. The spa is an intimate, candlelit space that marries The Madrid EDITION’s clean and minimalist aesthetic with dark timber and calming aromatic infusions.

This cozy enclave is composed of five treatment rooms: four individual treatment rooms and one double suite. Two treatment rooms, one individual room and the double suite are equipped with showers. The facility features a spacious relaxation lounge, sauna and a communal steam room. Its layout is designed around personalization, creating a sense of seclusion to encourage guests to reconnect with themselves. Guests can tailor their preferred atmosphere, adjusting everything from the lighting to ambient music.

The spa's focus is on listening and understanding each guest’s needs, even before they are expressed. The selection of scented oils is one example of this personalized approach. The aromatherapy offering includes two premier product lines: a bespoke collaboration with Le Labo, created exclusively for the EDITION, and Spanish luxury skincare house Natura Bissé. Our Inspector's Highlights

The bliss-filled journey starts at the Madrid spa's receiving area with a welcome ritual as a grounding gesture, inspired by EDITION's fragrance created by Le Labo with notes of black tea, bergamot, orange, chocolate and other aromatic nuances. The ritual includes a special black tea infused with bergamot and a warm towel scented with orange essential oil. The idea is about opening the hands to receive good energy and rejuvenate the senses.
The Spa Rituals offer three Madrid-themed treatments: The Templo de Debod Sunset, a romantic journey designed for two, with a private steam bath, body wrap and couples massage. The Paseo del Arte recalls artistic hallmarks of Spanish culture: flamenco, abanico (a traditional folding fan) and orange blossom scents infused with bespoke aromatherapy to awaken the senses. The Jardín Botánico, in homage to Madrid’s Royal Botanical Garden, offers a green touch, with olive oil extracts used in a soothing massage. The exfoliation includes sugar, volcanic pearls and olive seeds.
The EDITION Signature Massage — a staple at all the brand’s spas — uses Swedish massage techniques and oil infused with the brand’s Le Labo black tea scent. Available in 60- or 90-minute sessions, the treatment will leave you feeling loose and relaxed.
An exquisite specialty gift shop at the reception is not unlike a mini art gallery, featuring curated Spanish handicrafts, art and accessories. Keep an eye out for exceptional artisanal pieces like Spencer Hansen’s fantastical carved sculptures, and Spanish artist Javier Medina’s braided donkey head, created for EDITION hotels. Of course, it also sells more traditional spa products, including the Mediterranean-inspired Malababa line, Natura Bissé and the EDITION’s own branded amenities in collaboration with Le Labo.
After a long flight or a trying week, get reinvigorated with the Vitality Massage. The 60- or 90-minute treatment boosts circulation and alleviates fatigue and muscle tension.
