The treatment menu is filled with one-of-a-kind packages, like the Desert Rain Soak and Body Experience. After an exfoliation with essential-oil-infused salts, soak up more than 80 minerals and elements in a bath before the aromas of desert rain are massaged into your skin.
Every massage oil is infused with crystals like rose quartz to balance the body’s energy and promote a sense of well-being.
A day at the spa leaves you well rested for a night out on the town, especially when you let the full-service salon take care of the primping. Services include waxing, manicures, pedicures, beard trims and a full range of hair services from blowouts and updos to cuts and color.
If your idea of relaxation is a trip to the steam room and some quality time poolside, consider the day pass, which allows you access to the spa’s private pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool and fitness center.

Things to Know

This Rancho-Mirage spa is only open to adults, so do not make plans to bring the entire family.
If you want extra privacy, request the spa cabana retreat in which you will get your own cabana featuring a private whirlpool and food and cocktail service.
You do not have to be a guest at the hotel to enter the spa, but you will need to purchase a day pass if you are not residing at the premises.

The Treatments

Both body and spirit are the focus of Sunstone Spa’s revamped treatment menu. The Journey of Discovery, for example, uses massage to stimulate and energize the chakras, while add-ons like aromatherapy (with options including “Relax” and “Energize”) elevate your luxury spa experience.
The Sunstone Signature Stone Massage is popular for its ability to melt away muscle stiffness with the use of heated lava stones.
The impressive menu also includes body scrubs, wraps and a dozen facials, including a Thermo Cooling Hydration Facial perfect for soothing and moisturizing the skin during your desert stay.

The Facilities

There’s little need to pack a toiletry bag for your spa day, thanks to Sunstone’s fully stocked vanity area and locker room. Brushes, blow dryers, lotion and deodorant are on hand, and there are even disposable swimsuits available if you left yours behind.
Arriving early is worth it just to soak in the indoor whirlpool, sweat it out in the sauna or sit the eucalyptus steam room (offered in both the men’s and women’s lounge areas) before your treatment.
