Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts

A reimagined L.A. beauty turns heads
VERIFIED LUXURY
After a $30 million transformation and a splashy January 2026 grand opening soiree, Cameo Beverly Hills, the second LXR property in the Los Angeles area, refuses to be a bit player in the Beverly Hills hospitality scene.

Hugging the quiet outer edge of the posh enclave, Cameo was created inside the bones of the former Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel. While the exterior remains mostly untouched, save some signage, Cameo's 12 floors, 138 rooms (all of which boast balconies) and public spaces like the ground-level bar and patios created with potted-plant screens underwent an extensive costume change.

Bold patterned floors, ornate wallpaper, gracefully bulbous amoeba couches and marble-topped nightstands take center stage, resulting in a look the property is calling “an updated mid-century mod with a dash of deco” aesthetic.

The sun-splashed pool deck and the restaurant also get revamped for this second act while the lightly enhanced top-floor ballroom, with its 360-degree panoramas and abundance of natural light, maintains its reputation as the hotel’s true scene stealer.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The contemporary-chic styling — spearheaded by Premier, a Texas firm responsible for designs at Bardessono Hotel and Spa in Napa Valley and other top properties — carries through the light, bright and peaceful rooms. Personal balconies, subdued hues, light hardwood floors, burl wood and white oak furnishings,Italian marble bathrooms and Byredo Bal d’Afrique bath amenities are found in all sizes of accommodations. Suites, which range from a loft-style space to the 1,165-square foot namesake suite, add roomier layouts, soaking tubs and more seating.
  • Despite Beverly Hills hotel's retreat-like rooms, the siren song of Silhouette is hard to ignore. Simultaneously polished and cozy, it calls to guests with all-day dining and drinking (don’t sleep on the chicha morada, a Peruvian beverage made of purple corn), snacks, live jazz on weekends, a fireplace with a hypnotizing surround and groupings of banquettes and coffee tables. If you need to work or bide time until your room is ready, hunker down in the enclosed nook farthest from the front door where the couches have built-in USB charging ports by your feet.
  • Given that the Beverly Hills dining scene has reached its saturation point in terms of steakhouses and upscale Italian eateries, choosing to install a Japanese Nikkei-influenced Peruvian restaurant was a smart play to attract pasta- and filet-fatigued diners. Zampo, with its textured terrazzo, handcrafted ceramics and a colorful custom mural by California artists Zoe Derring and Thomas Harrison, also happens to deliver bold flavors in cross-cultural dishes like a yellowtail crudo with mirin gel and soy caviar, pretty plating and a variety of pisco-forward cocktails mixed with house-made syrups and tinctures. And don’t worry, you can still get a beef fix as Zampo’s specialty is peppery lomo saltado.
  • Starlight Rooftop Ballroom is as stunning as ever with its wraparound deck, old Hollywood elegance, floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive views stretching from Santa Monica to downtown and across Beverly Hills and up to the Hollywood sign. It is so gorgeous when the city lights flicker to life every night that even already-married couples start contemplating vow renewal.
  • The pool offers guests yet another place to chill and sip. Choose between draped private cabanas, oiled teak chaises or lounge seating closer to the outdoor bar. The fitness center oversees yoga and other group exercise classes on the deck as well.

Things to Know

  • Set just off Pico Boulevard, the luxury hotel straddles the outermost edges of four mostly residential neighborhoods: Beverly Hills, Beverlywood, Pico-Robertson and Cheviot Hills. This puts guests within a seven-minute drive (or an easy 25-minute walk) to Rodeo Drive boutiques, the historic Fox Studios lot and buzzy restaurants.
  • An intimate spa is under construction and expected to be completed by summer 2026.
  • LXR Hotels & Resorts is part of Hilton’s luxury portfolio and as such a stay will earn Hilton Honors points or can be booked with points. Members also unlock certain instant benefits like free Wi-Fi, digital check-in and room selection.
