Capella at Galaxy Macau

A gilded jungle hideaway
VERIFIED LUXURY
In Asia’s entertainment capital, Capella at Galaxy Macau is not afraid to dazzle with glitz and glamour. Tucked inside Galaxy Macau’s golden tower, the 17-story hotel embraces opulent touches, from all-suite accommodations with their own pools to activities like private helicopter tours over Macau.

While Galaxy Macau’s entertainment-filled integrated resort beckons, it will be difficult to leave the 95 sanctuary-like suites. Designed by the Paris-based Moinard Bétaille studio, the expansive, jungle-inspired spaces are more akin to residences, complete with private balconies and enticing infinity pools. The four-bedroom penthouses have added perks, like a wellness room with a massage chair and gym equipment and a games room with a foosball table.

If you choose to explore, you won’t have to go far. The hotel’s lush Botanica restaurant serves an Asian-influenced global menu, and invite-only Pony & Plume whiskey bar begs for nightcaps. With such sumptuous surroundings, there’s no choice but to indulge.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Capella Penthouses seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces, featuring a balcony with a transparent infinity-edge lap pool, an outdoor lounge, a sunroom and an interior winter garden. Those staying in a suite can luxuriate in their own personal indoor plunge pool.
  • A lot of thought and talent went into curating the artwork displayed throughout the Macau hotel, including the digital art wall by Laura Cheung that greets guests in the lobby, the Capella Living Room’s life-like floral reliefs and Mexican artist Joel Escalona’s red oak sculptures in Botanica.
  • Whiskey enthusiasts should definitely plan a visit to Pony & Plume, a polo-themed bar that boasts an impressive selection of 650 whiskey varieties. Enjoy the spirit in unique cocktails like the A-Ma-Gau Fashioned, an Old Fashioned made with Japanese whisky, hojicha (a roasted green tea) and cold brew.
  • The penthouses and suites all offer exceptional residential-style comforts. Amenities such as Frette linens, spacious layouts, walk-in showers and deep-soaking bathtubs ensure you’ll feel right at home. While a 24-hour butler who will unpack and pack your luggage, will take care of all your needs.
  • The hotel’s Botanica restaurant brings the urban jungle theme to life with a lush, oasis-like space, with indoor water features. Executive chef Stephen Hsu’s globally inspired menu features dishes such as charcoal-grilled sea bass with a Sicilian caponata and brightly flavored fresh clam and fennel tagliolini.
