VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.

Raffles Makati debuted in a brand-new 30-story tower in the Philippines’ central business district, Makati City. Given its proximity to the Philippine Stock Exchange and numerous embassies, the hotel is a natural choice for business travelers. But it’s also right next to Greenbelt and other posh shopping malls and just a few minutes away from the trendiest bars, which lures in leisure guests as well.
Inside that new tower, you’ll find several properties: the 32-suite Raffles Makati hotel and 110-unit Raffles Makati Residences, which offers everything from a one-bedroom suite to a spacious four-bedroom option. Raffles Makati also shares the complex with another sought-after hotel, Fairmont Makati.
Despite being a new addition, Raffles Makati carries all the attributes that make its 1867 brand a standout, from the attentive, individualized service to the famed Singapore Sling (which was created at its sister Singapore property). Of course, the Philippines hotel adds its own local flavor (for example, it created its own decadent Makati Luxury Sling that includes 24k gold).
To stay at Raffles Makati is to experience modern amenities and Old World warmth.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- Every stay at Raffles begins and ends with its exceptionally trained butlers. One of the greatest things about Raffles Makati is its stellar butler service, ensuring an unforgettable tailor-made stay.
- The property is filled to the brim with gorgeous and insightful artwork from local Filipino artists — 1,600 paintings, murals and sculptures, to be exact. The best part: The butlers are trained to give art tours of the hotel upon request.
- The hotel has become a foodie destination — thanks to in-house restaurants like Spectrum, The Writer’s Bar and the Provencal-themed brasserie Mirèio.
- Willow Stream Spa is one of Raffles Makati’s top amenities. It offers a haven of relaxation in the middle of the bustling business district. The exquisite treatments use the best products, like artisanal all-natural items from Aromatherapy Associates and Kerstin Florian.
Things to Know
- Raffles Makati officially opened in February 2013 and has been one of the forerunners in the metro’s hospitality scene.

- The hotel is designed by global firm Bent Severin International. It reflects the Old World charm synonymous to the Raffles brand with nods to Filipino influence. The crisp white walls are the perfect backdrop for the fetching art from Filipino artists.
- Aside from being an all-suite hotel, the property also has Raffles Makati Residences. The Residences has 110 suites — varying from one to four bedrooms — perfect for travelers who are looking to stay within the city for 10 days and more.

- The luxury hotel has its own private underground walkway that gives you direct access to the neighboring shopping malls.
The Rooms
- Raffles Makati is an all-suite property, which means you may choose from the 23 charming Junior Suites, the eight ample Executive Suites or the one and only Presidential Suite — a spectacular three-bedroom unit.
- All Raffles suites exude timeless Old World charm with a spacious layout, high ceilings, all-white interiors, hardwood accents, gorgeous artwork and touches of Filipino influences. All suites have floor-to-ceiling windows giving an unobstructed view of the city.
- The Executive and Presidential suites have separate living rooms and dining areas, plus a walk-in wardrobe and an additional guest bathroom. The Presidential Suite also comes with a kitchen for guests who would like to prepare their own meals.
- The suites feature a stunning all-marble bathroom with a deep-soaking tub, lavish terry robes and luxurious bath products especially made for Raffles.
- All suites come with high-definition LED televisions with cable channels, a state-of-the-art home entertainment system and a bedside control panel to adjust lighting and the entertainment system.
The Restaurants
- Don’t forget to check out the Long Bar, an exact replica of the famous bar of the same name in Raffles Singapore. Inspired by Malay plantations, the Long Bar boasts a tropical vibe with a hint of European flair. Make sure to take a shot (or two) of Sipsmith’s Raffles 1915 Gin, specially distilled for Raffles.
- The Writer’s Bar is just the place to leisurely read over drinks and snacks, made even better with the live lounge music. On the other side of the room, opposite the bar, you’ll find floor-to-ceiling bookshelves housing everything from classics to tomes written and signed by visiting authors.
- Spectrum is an all-day-dining restaurant shared by Raffles Makati and Fairmont Makati. It has five “culinary theaters” around the main room, creating one world-class dish after another. The five culinary theaters include cuisine from China, the Middle East, India, Europe and the Philippines. Spectrum serves a buffet spread along with à la carte dishes. It also has an in-house bar.
- At the 10th floor of the Makati hotel is a beautifully conceptualized restaurant based on a celebrated poem by Nobel Laureate Frédéric Mistral. Called Mirèio, the elegant brasserie-style restaurant offers Provençal-inspired cuisine, melding traditional French-cooking techniques and exquisite Mediterranean influences.
- When dining at Mirèio, make sure to try its beef tartare with goat cheese and basil, mussels in a mustard and saffron sauce with onion coulis, and the lavender crème brûlée.
