RiverView Ranch

A rustic, intimate ranch

Located on more than 1,000 acres along the banks of Montana's Clark Fork River, the bespoke RiverView Ranch exudes provincial Western style with the refinements of modern luxury. The all-inclusive ranch takes care of your every need, including round-trip airport transfers, a lengthy list of on-property activities and all meals, beer, wine and other beverages. And expect personalized attention: this eight-suite property only hosts 24 guests at a time.

This is a place to go to be surrounded by pristine nature. Connected to Lolo National Forest, the 12,000-square-foot lodge overlooks a stunning lake. Hit the great outdoors for a Western adventure tailored to your skill and comfort level, like hiking through scenic trails, fishing in the trout-filled waters or snowmobiling in the open expanse during winter. The ranch also offers an equestrian program that includes pole bending, hay rides, sleigh rides and much more. Whichever you choose to do, there's no wrong way to enjoy Big Sky country.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • All the lodge suites overlook the private lake and feature a deck complete with a fire pit. And yes, s'mores kits are available.
  • The year-round ranch’s stunning Montana terrain makes for ideal exploring. In the winter, there's snowshoeing, ice skating, sleigh rides and cross-country skiing. The warmer months offer paddle boarding, mountain biking, canoeing, hiking and trail rides, to name a few of the many activities.
  • Gather around the roaring fire in the Lodge’s cozy Great Room. Even as you warm up at the towering natural stone fireplace under wood cathedral ceilings, the wall of windows overlooking the lakefront and surrounding mountains will vie for your attention.
  • Given there are only eight accommodations, the luxury ranch feels intimate and secluded.
  • After spending the day riding horses on the trails or learning how to do a cattle drive, take a load off at The Lakehouse’s hot tub or dry sauna.

The Restaurants

  • All three meals a day are prepared for you by the chef. The food centers around your preferences and the bounty of the seasons. Dine in the Great Room on the deck, accompanied by stunning mountain views; on the shore at the Lake House; or picnic style wherever you would like.
  • Much of the resort’s pantry comes straight from the chef’s garden, with any other needed ingredient sourced organically and locally.
  • If you catch some trout in the lake, the chef will help you grill it (or do it for you). Complete your lake-side dinner with local vegetables and cowboy favorites like baked beans and skillet potatoes.
