The Maybourne Riviera
A modernist marvel above Monaco
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.

When the same group behind icons like Claridge’s and The Connaught in London set its sights on the French Riviera, everyone was curious to see what The Maybourne Riviera would be like.Though some visitors probably aren’t familiar with the historic village of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, it sits suspended over Monaco and is often considered the French extension of the principality. The fashion elite such as like Coco Chanel built villas here. So, it only makes sense that this Jean-Michel Wilmotte-designed modernist beauty whose glass façade rises high over the Mediterranean would be a landmark anywhere you look when you’re down below in the principality.
Each of the hotel’s 69 rooms and suites feels bespoke thanks to collaborations with a mix of artists, designers and architects, including André Fu, Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, Marcelo Joulia and Pierre Yovanovitch. Spaces are accented with an impressive collection of contemporary art from the likes of Jeppe Hein and Matt Jukes, which are mixed among ceramics, furnishings, glassware and commissioned works from local artists that pay homage to the strong tradition of craftsmanship in the region. The culinary concepts are also every bit as exceptional, with star chefs like Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Mauro Colagreco passing through the property’s Mediterranean-influenced kitchens.
