Nestled on Mauritius’ pristine east coast, LUX* Belle Mare boasts a spectacular sugar-white beach fringed with luscious coconut palms and lapped by a protected turquoise lagoon teeming with coral and marine life. After a fire tore through the resort in 2022, it reopened a year later with a new modern tropical look from Mauritian architect Jean-François Adam and Mauritian designer Jean-Marc Tang.
The 174 suites and 12 villas offer balconies with views of either the lush manicured gardens or ocean. Inside the airy indoor-outdoor living spaces, you will see nods to the surrounding nature. The minimalist white-sand-hued interiors have splashes of soft pastels (like a butter-yellow sofa or a light coral area rug), tables cast in reclaimed local sand and colorful closets covered in wallpaper inspired by Indian Ocean corals.
Elsewhere at LUX* Belle Mare, you’ll find nine restaurants and bars, a restorative spa and a nearly 22,000-square-foot pool overlooking the ocean.
